I am playing a show in Rochester tomorrow!

er… klessa is anyway..

come to it?

The show is happening at The Shark Tank. Potluck at 5pm, music at 8pm!

If you want the address ask nick or someone who is not me because I dont even know it and wont be able to tell you it through the internet.

other people are playing too:

Ryan Declan
Ben Morey
Jenna Giuliaini
Lauren O’Connell

I am excited about this. Its okay if you dont come, but it would also mean a lot. I am pretty stoked about it and would like to soak up as many hugs as humanly possible and be able to share a little bit of me with you all.

how ‘bout it?

tour update #2!

again, this is mostly just for me.

NYC was awesome. Beyond awesome even. I am shocked. We played two shows, one in Queens and one Brooklyn at our friends apartment. I saw a ton of totally sweet people I have not seen in awhile, recorded a pink couch session, made way too many jokes, laughed a lot, acquired an awesome cat lamp, and didnt freak out. Dom and Mike Borth are the best hosts anyone could ask for and  I loved being there. It was really wonderful.

So many old New Paltz folks came out to both shows and it made me feel really great. It wasnt nearly as awkward as I thought it would be. It wasnt even really awkward at all! I cant really explain it well enough but it made me want to keep in touch with all those kids so much better than I have. I dont know if that will really happen but I am inspired to try a little more.

Yesterday we played in Philly. I am not exactly sure how I feel about this place, but I think it went as well as it possibly could have. The show was pretty freakin great. All the bands that played were awesome. Circadian Rythms and Soft Cat were especially wonderful. Soft Cat is from Baltimore and are going to try to come to show today!
Also, I got to see Bobby! It was awesome even though he wasnt able to stick around for the show. We stayed with Simon’s friend Melissa who is rad as hell and has a really cozy great apartment that was so wonderful to stay at.

Today we are going to eat banana pecan pancakes and go to Baltimore to play a show at Jordan’s house. I think its going to be a lot of fun?

I feel super scatterbrained right now. I miss Nick Maynard too much and am excited about the rest of tour and cant wait to see so many more rad folks that are in store for us this trip. its going to be great i think!

tour!

So this is the first time I have looked at the internet in four days or so. I wish I could post pictures but I dont really have any and am using Kate’s computer.

A quick rundown of events mostly to keep track of things for myself:

Sunday: Show in Plattsburg with Adrian Aardvark at the food co-op. Ate insanely good food that I will never forget. Marco  Polio played which was a treat. This guy named Lane played a violin and it kind of ruled. We stayed at Chris’s house which was super cute and quaint but slept on a floor made of plywood. I have lost my sleeping bag apparently? so could only bring a blanket on tour which is fine, but in this situation sucked.

Monday: Peterboro NH! I love this place. it is really the greatest. All of our friends here are so wonderful and I wish I got to see them a lot more. We played in a space next to the toadstool bookshop which really could not have been more perfect. Redwing Blackbird played with a full band and it blew me away. I CANT WAIT for their new album to come out. I cant wait to share it with people when it does. We stayed at Ben’s studio (which he also sort of lives it. He is a recording/sound engineer and the coolest dude ever.) There was supposed to be a meteor shower but we only caught a few (I only saw one, wtf?), slept on a couch and was warm and cozy and wonderful even though it was way too small for any human being to ever fit on.

Tuesday: We got up, went back to the bookstore so they could buy cds and zines from us, went to the DUMP! which has this freecycle-esque free mall in it where i picked up a deck of cards that I am stoked about and then headed to Boston. We went to dinner at Grasshopper, which totally ruled and I basically got enough food for 3 meals. The show we played was weird. It was at a bar called the Savant Project. Every tuesday they do an open mic but also have a “featured artist”…so that was us. We played first, for 40 minutes or something.. regardless the longest set I have ever played. No one was really there (excpet JEFF L! <3 and my neighbor from growing up) but we all had a lot of fun. Even though it was by far the least ideal show on tour so far, we might have had the most fun playing. Anyway, then some dudes played guitar by themselves, one guy named antonio told the most embarrassing and offense jokes/stand up and then our friend Dan played. It was great but I was so tired I wasnt really able to enjoy it as much.

Today!: I slept like a dream. This couch is probably as good, if not better than my own bed. We are headed to NYC today to play a show in Queens at this place called the Silent Barn with Chin Up Meriweather and the Fellow Project and a bunch of other bands. It is going to  be fairly hillarious playing with loud punk-ish bands but maybe it will go over well? Last night I discovered that we can be pretty rockin!

Anyway, everything is really fun and I think we are all starting to really connect with eachother again. We have been selling WAY more cds than we ever expected we would. (we might have to assemble more on the road?) It is a pretty good feeling but I am trying not to learn to expect it. I am excited for the rest of this tour but it seems like it will go on forever? I am pumped to be in Rochester for Thanksgiving and to see some folks. I want hugs that will never end (dear lord, please?)
